Cat Deeley was brought up in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, West Midlands, with her siblings. As an infant she attended Grove Vale Infant School in Great Barr, Birmingham and later went on to Dartmouth High School in Walsall.
Modeling and television came to heron its own. At the age of fourteen she entered a regional edition of a BBC competition for ‘The Clothes Show’, where she made it to the national finals. It was then that an agent spotted her and soon modeling assignments started coming for her. She then shortened her name from Catherine to Cat, so that it would be easier for the clients to book her again. By the time Cat turned eighteen she was already a full fledged fashion model. In 1994 she made her first television appearance on the British TV Series ‘Kilroy’.
In 1997, Cat decided to leave her modeling career and became a presenter with Edith Bowman, on MTV UK. Since then she has hosted shows like ‘Ant & Dec’, ‘The Record of the Year’, ‘Fame Academy’, ‘The 2004 BRIT Awards’ and ‘Stars in Their Eyes’.
In 2006, she became the host of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, where she replaced Lauren Sanchez, who was pregnant then. From then on she is serving as the host on the show.
Besides that, Cat has also appeared in the commercials for brands like Marks and Spencer and Garnier Fructis products. Apart from this, she has been the host of shows like American Idol, UK, for sixth season, Peter Kay’s “Britain’s Got The Pop Factor … And Possibly A New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly On Ice” and also on the syndicated version of ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’, where she re-placed Meredith Vieira.
Coming down to her personal life, Deeley has homes in Beverly Hills and London. Deeley is currently dating British actor Jack Huston, though earlier she was dating Mark Whelan, public relations executive. But her relationship with Mark came to an end, when she decided to move to Hollywood.
