Download So You Think You Can Dance

Fox Network was very well aware of the curiosity among fans after watching the rocking dance performances during the first season of ‘So You Think You Can Dance‘. So, not making us to wait too long, series returned with second season on May 12, 2006. Opening the season was the audition process exactly like we saw in the previous season and this time, auditions were held in New York, Charleston, Los Angeles and Chicago. There was a Las Vegas Callback audition too where 115 dancers competed. Nick Lazzarini, last year’s winner, gave a solo performance in the sixth episode of the season aired on June 14, 2006. Cat Deeley was the host. It was June 8, 2006 when the top 20 finalists of the season were announced and Benji Schwimmer became ‘America’s Favorite Dancer’ on August 16, 2006. It was its own kind of achievement when 16 million votes were cast for the season finale. Travis Wall was elected as the runner up.

Several changes were made to the show format during the second season and we guess it was better than the first season in several aspects. New dance styles were also introduced. The biggest change was the change of award. Prize was increased from $100,000 to a new car and also a one year contract to perform in Celine Dion’s Las Vegas show. One of the highlights of season was the versatility of star performer Kelly Jack. Season finale was aired on August 16, 2006. 23 episodes were aired during the second season of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’.
