First audition to select the competitors for the fourth season of series was held at McFarlin Memorial Auditorium at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas from January 17 to January 19, 2008.
Next audition was arranged at Charleston Music Hall in Charleston, South Carolina. It was held between January 31 and February 2, 2007. Next, they headed to Capital Theatre in Salt Lake City, Utah and auditions were held there from February 4 to February 7, 08. Place for fourth auditions was Atlas Performing Arts Center in Washington, D.C and these auditions were held from February 21 to February 23. The Orpheum Theatre (Los Angeles) was the place for fifth audition and they’re held from March 6 to March 8, 08. And the last audition was held in The Milwaukee Theatre in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from March 20 to March 22.
Throughout the history of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, it happened for the very first time when New York City was not a stop during the audition tour. It’s mandatory for all contestants to be between the ages of 18 and 30 and legally liable to be employed in the United States. Over 200 contestants auditioned during the auditioning round and they all received a plane ticket to a challenging week of callback auditions for which the place was Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Las Vegas week was comprised of multiple rounds of choreography including a hip-hop routine with Napoleon D’umo and Tabitha D’umo; a Broadway number with Tyce Diorio; the foxtrot with Jean-Marc Genereux and contemporary choreography with Mia Michaels. The judges’ panel for this week included Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, Debbie Allen, Mia Michaels, Napoleon D’umo and Tabitha D’umo.

Exactly like the previous two seasons, the finals began with 20 contestants. 10 male contestants and 10 female contestants were divided into pairs. Next they picked out a dancing style out of a hat (the same used in the last two seasons) and performed their routine. After the performance, audience voted for their favorite couple thus selecting the three couples liable for elimination.
Ultimately, ‘So You Think You Can Dance‘ season 4 came to an end, making way for the season 5, on August 7, 2008. On the same night, Joshua Allen was crowned as the winner.
