Show Summary
‘So You Think you can Dance’ is an American reality drama presented by the creators of American Idol and the producers of American Bandstand and The American Music. Each season contestants, skilled in everything from ballroom and ballet to salsa, jive, hip-hop, and krumping etc, are chosen ranging from the street dancers to well known ones and they compete to be named as the next best dancer. Every contestant tries his/her best to impress the judges and audiences as well with their moves and rigorous routines. In order to check their versatility, they’re assigned to different dance styles and dance partners. Every one tries to strut into the hearts of producers so that they can win a one year contract for Celine Dion’s Vegas show, a brand new car and $ 100k cash.
Audience votes for their favorite couples and the three couples with lesser points are chosen for elimination. In the next round, they all perform a solo of their choice for judges and one male and female who fail to perform up to the mark get eliminated. Auditions are held in major cities across US in order to chose the one who’ll burn the dance floor with his/her rocking performances and will become ‘America’s Favorite Dancer’.
‘So You Think You Can Dance‘ was premiered on July 20, 2005 on FOX network and series will be back very soon with fifth season.
